Activities

Snorkeling, Sport Fishing and Cruises

Private boats and yachts and a large sailing catamaran offer snorkeling, sport fishing and sunset cruises.

Whale Watching

Each winter the Humpback Whales make their journey from Alaska to the coastal waters of Mexico in search of warmer waters to breed and give birth. They can be spotted off the coast of Zihuatanejo from late January through the end of February.

Kayaking

Potosi is a 4-mile saltwater lagoon formed by a river with a large sand bar at the mouth. The tour is a 6-mile flat water paddle through the mangrove channels and tunnels, remote back bays and wetlands. The entire lagoon is home to thousands of waterfowl.

Golf

El Club de Golf Palma Real and Marina Ixtapa Club de Golf are both 18-hole courses located in Ixtapa. Tee times are recommended for both during high season.

Massage

Listen to the surf while having a massage on the northern end of Playa La Ropa. Services include hot stone therapy and reflexology. Massages are also available at Casa del Arbol in the privacy of your suite

Shopping

Downtown Zihuatanejo is the place to start a shopping expedition. With about 250 stands offering hand-made jewelry, painted bowls and hammocks the Mercado de Artesanias is a good place to start. Across the street see handicrafts collected throughout Mexico and available for sale at Arte Mexicano Nopal. Nearby are several silver shops like the well-known Alberto’s. Near Playa Principal and the Paseo del Pescador visit the boutiques in the Casa Marina shopping center where the range of Mexican crafts includes sculptures, masks, jewelry boxes, rugs, hammocks and traditional Mexican embroidered cotton clothing and linens.

Scuba Diving

PADI-certified guides and equipment are available at any of the four area dive shops.

A residential concierge service is offered for all Casa del Arbol guests. Restaurant reservations and bookings for excursions may be made in advance of arrival.
